”Salzburg Easter Festival in Autumn”, 29 October to 1 November, 2021:
Christian Thielemann and the Staatskapelle Dresden will open the “Autumn Easter Festival” on Friday 29 October with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Requiem. The Bachchor Salzburg will sing, and the soloists will be Golda Schultz, Christa Mayer, Sebastian Kohlhepp and René Pape.
On 30 October, the Easter Festival will welcome guest conductor Daniele Gatti to the podium for his concert with the Staatskapelle. Hilary Hahn, a celebrated violin world star, will play Mozart’s A-major Violin Concerto. The programme will also include Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy’s Meeresstille und glückliche Fahrt and Robert Schumann‘s Third Symphony.
On 31 October präsentieren Christian Thielemann and the Staatskapelle Dresden will present a concert entitled Winterstürme featuring excerpts from Richard Wagner’s Die Walküre und em>Götterdämmerung. Anja Kampe, Stephen Gould and René Pape will sing.
The Festival will conclude on 1 November, when Denis Matsuev, one of the most in-demand pianists of his generation, will play Edvard Grieg’s Piano Concerto in a minor. Under the baton of Christian Thielemann the second part of the concert will feature Richard Strauss’s symphonic poem for large orchestra Ein Heldenleben auf dem Programm.
2022 Salzburg Easter Festival: Concert for Salzburg, Chamber Concerts, Kapelle für Kids:
The popular Concert for Salzburg will be conducted by the Staatskapelle’s principal guest conductor, the South Korean Myung-Whun Chung. The programme will include the Fourth Symphony of Johannes Brahms, the 125th anniversary of whose death is in 2022..
We invite you to discover the full variety of the programme of the 2022 Easter Festival. As usual, it will also feature two Chamber Concerts and the Kapelle für Kids.
Preferential Treatment for Patrons
Members of the Association of Patrons of the Salzburg Easter Festival receive preferential treatment when booking tickets and as subscribers they enjoy the exclusive benefit of guaranteed seats every year. You can find detailed information about the benefits offered by the association including an online application form by clicking the menu option membership.
The Easter Festival has a Young Patrons’ scheme that allows individuals under the age of thirty-five to join the association of patrons of the Salzburg Easter Festival at a much reduced rate. This entitles members to a limited number of seats in price category V.

The Salzburg Easter Festival reserves the right to change artists and programme and such changes do not entitle ticket holders to return their tickets.
Without guarantee, only patrons may return tickets only for sold-out performances for resale (10% commission charge).
